Ybbs-Persenbeug visitor power plant

The Ybbs-Persenbeug visitor power plant is the oldest run-of-river power plant on the Danube River in Austria. It was built between 1954 and 1959.

Visitors can take guided tours to see the inside of the power plant and learn a lot about the history and technology of energy generation. The huge machinery hall, where the turbines and generators can be seen, is particularly fascinating. In addition, the grounds of the power plant offer beautiful views of the Danube River and the surrounding countryside.
