Every year, in early July, bikers from Austria meet on Austria’s highest dam to collect have their motorcycle blessed for the season.

Celebrate your passion for motorcycling with the traditional motorcycle blessing at the Kölnbrein Dam! 25th Motorcycle blessing

on 5 July 2025

Bike the dam! On Saturday, 5 July 2025 at 2:00 p.m., the 25th VERBUND motorcycle blessing will take place on the Kölnbrein Dam. Bikers are allowed to park on the top of the dam wall this day and get their blessing for the 2025 motorcycle season. Plan a day tour, get your blessing and finish up a wonderful bike trip in the high-alpine Berghotel Malta panoramic restaurant with live music and a good meal. We look forward to your visit!

Among powerful engines and the force of nature: Motorcycle blessing on the Kölnbrein Dam

Father Zoltán Papp gives the St. Christopher blessing to motorcycles and their Riders. This is also the only time you’ll be able to drive through the dam crest of Kölnbrein Dam, Austria’s highest dam wall at 200 metres. The associated biker pin, The popular collectible and souvenir of the annual excursion on the Malta high alpine road, is just as much a tradition as the St. Christopher blessing.
