At the “Info-Zentrum” kiosk in the Berghotel Malta, you will find snacks, drinks to go, postcards and a wide range of souvenirs. You will definitely find a souvenir of your trip to the Kölnbrein Dam here.

The cosy mountaineer refuge is located on the Tauern high-altitude trail right on the border with the Hohe Tauern National Park. From the sun terrace, you can see the glaciers of the high-alpine mountain range and the 3,360 m high Hochalmspitze. Over 80 sleeping facilities.
Open from mid-June to the end of September, winter room open all year round.
The Gmünder Hut is situated right on the Malta high alpine road and provides an ideal starting point for tours of the surrounding three-thousand-metre peaks. Enjoy hot food made with products from its own farm throughout the day and benefit from the sun terrace and children’s playground.
Rooms and storage are available for mountaineers and hikers.
Coach groups are also welcome by prior arrangement.

You can walk to the Kölnbreinstüberl in just a few minutes from the Kölnbrein Dam car park.
Delicious house specialities are available: Maltataler bacon, freshly caught trout, Brettljause, etc.

At 2,320 metres above sea level, the Kattowitzer Hut is located right in the middle of the Ankogel Group and is a popular destination or a perfect starting point for hikes to the surrounding three-thousand-metre peaks.
