Nestled between snow-covered mountains and glaciers, directly bordering the Hohe Tauern National Park, are the Mooserboden and Wasserfallboden reservoirs. VERBUND offers you not only exciting insights into electricity generation, but also unforgettable experiences in nature.

In addition to interactive educational trails for children, well-maintained hiking trails and the challenge of the highest via ferrata on a dam wall, we also offer fun and adventure in equal measure.

Inclined lift

431 Metres in height and 8.2 metres track width. Europe’s largest open inclined lift and the world’s largest rail vehicle will transport you into an unparalleled Alpine landscape.

Mountain bus

From June to September, we offer a special morning bus every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for hikers and mountaineers. The bus runs from Kassa Kesselfall to Mooserboden 2,040 metres above sea level at 6:45 a.m.

2025 SEASON: 27th May to 12th October

May and June: daily from 8:10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
July and August: daily from 8:10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
September and October: daily from 8:10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Prices 2025

Transfer buses and the Lärchwand inclined lift take you from Kassa Kesselfall to the Mooserboden Reservoir. There is no timetable for the transfer buses to the reservoirs; the buses run continuously (depending on the number of visitors). We try to keep any waiting times as short as possible.

Discount for people with disabilities

Under certain conditions, adults with disabilities receive a 50% discount on the ascent and descent at the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs. To take advantage of this offer, you will need an Austrian disability pass, a severely disabled veteran's pass or a European disability pass with the following information:

Indication of a degree of disability of at least 70%
An accompanying person or assistance dog can use the free transfer service (if indicated on the disability pass).
Children (aged 6–15) with a degree of disability of 50% or more also receive a free ticket for the ascent and descent.
Europe and other countries: If you have a European disability pass or a comparable international document that is legible and comparable to Austrian documents, the same rules apply.
